About the Right-of-Center Action Team

Conservative and right-of-center voices are vital in America’s national discussion about our growing energy demand and how we’re going to meet it responsibly. While climate change is an important issue, we think the discussion should be about responsible energy and stewardship.

If right-of-center voices aren’t at the table, we’re on the menu. Conservative solutions to climate need to be part of the conversation — after all, if America only uses our left wing, we’ll fly in circles.

That’s where we come in. The Right-of-Center Action Team is made up of volunteers on the political right who want America’s energy future not just to be clean, but also to be affordable, reliable, and secure.

Our team connects and empowers right-of-center volunteers within Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) so we can better lead that conversation. Our members can build relationships, share experiences, and confidently advocate for energy policy aligned with our values.

As part of our team, you may:

  • Interact with Republican congressional offices, including attending lobby meetings
  • Reach out and engage other right-of-center people like yourself
  • Build relationships in your politically right-leaning area or community

Right-of-center people have an essential role to play in building political will for effective energy policy. Fill out the join form and help us make it happen.

We meet monthly on the 1st Tuesday of every month at 7 pm ET on Zoom.

CCL’s Annual Virtual Conservative Conference & Lobby Day

Next conference: Spring 2027 — dates to be announced

Each year, CCL hosts a virtual Conservative Conference & Lobby Day specifically for right-of-center volunteers. Conference programming allows attendees to link up with the broader eco-right movement to learn about responsible, effective climate and energy policy — and then lobby Congress to pass it.

Our 2026 conference focused on energy and trade policy like permitting reform and foreign pollution fees. Attendees heard from speakers including:

  • Former FERC chairman Neil Chatterjee
  • Executive Director of republicEN Bob Inglis
  • Staff members from the Indiana Conservative Alliance for Energy, Land and Liberty Coalition, and American Conservation Coalition Action

In the week following the conference, attendees met virtually with Republican members of Congress to advocate for specific policies and bills.

Frequently asked questions

Who is eligible to join the Right-of-Center Action Team?

The Right-of-Center Action Team is exclusively for volunteers who consider themselves right-of-center on the political spectrum. We recognize the definition of right-of-center varies based on geographic location, core beliefs, and personal experiences. If you believe yourself to be right-of-center in any capacity, we invite you to attend a meeting and determine whether the discussion and content resonate with you. You can also reach out to [email protected] with questions.

Who is NOT eligible to join the Right-of-Center Action Team?

Simply put, anyone who does not identify as right-of-center. If you are a moderate or left-of-center volunteer interested in conservative outreach, we invite you to instead view CCL’s past trainings on conservative outreach or join our Conservative Outreach Action Team, which is open to all volunteers.

What type of conservative energy solutions does CCL support?

We are not a partisan caucus, policy-setting body, or an entity separate from CCL’s mission or strategic direction. We support CCL’s core policy commitments from a place of our own perspectives and values.

As a whole, CCL supports energy solutions that reduce emissions, remove climate pollution, and protect people. At the moment, our major legislative initiatives are related to forestry, carbon pricing, and permitting reform, but this does not encompass the full scope of policies we support.

How can I get even more involved?

We find that right-of-center volunteers also feel at home in our Action Teams specific to certain energy solutions, such as our Nuclear Energy Action Team, Geothermal Action Team, Electrification Action Team, and even our action team for current or former oil industry employees, known as Team O.I.L. Feel free to join our Right-of-Center Team and explore any of these additional teams as well.
